Own a multi point power board? Do you use it all the time?

Multi point extension power boards are fast becoming the fire risk that double adapters were 20 years ago. They are manufactured in China with little to no quality control. Power boards are designed for occasional, once in a while use, and are not designed to cope with continual and ongoing use. Often times they are used to power high demand devices, which can quickly overload the power board. At FEMAR we see a significant number of fires started because of power board misuse. If you need to use a power board permanently, we suggest engaging a licensed electrician to install a wall mounted socket. However, this does not then mean using the board or a double adapter and overloading the socket.
